Helping Kittens Like Pirate!
Meet Pirate, a sweet little guy undergoing treatment and recovering with an experienced GAHS foster!
Pirate was brought to GAHS in need of emergency medical care due to an untreated eye infection. Pirate’s infection was so severe, that the only hope for this young kitten was strong dosing of antibiotics and removal of his eye. His treatment will continue for weeks to come, with ongoing medication and veterinary follow ups.
This is the type of situations that break our hearts, but it is why the GAHS is here- to help animals in need. While he is now thriving in foster and getting the care he needs, no pet should have to suffer through something like this.
As a pet owner, it may be difficult to know when you need to seek guidance or help from a veterinarian. It can also be difficult to access and afford care for your pets when it is needed. Please do not hesitate to reach out for help, because failure to treat even a simple issue can quickly create a more serious, long-term or life threatening situation for your pet.
Animals in the care of GAHS have a variety of medical needs. Our Emergency Medical Fund provides surgery and management of medical care for pets that goes above and beyond preventative care, spay/neuter and vaccinations.
How can you help? Donations to this fund can be made online using the below form. Please help us help kittens like Pirate, as well as the countless dogs, cats and small animals in need of urgent medical care.
