February is all about LOVE!
Show Your Love by Fostering!
One of the best ways to show your love is to open your home to a foster pet! To demonstrate the impact that you can have, we have decided to profile some of our current fosters on social media throughout the month of February – after all, it is the month of love!
Meet Emily, who joined our foster ranks by welcoming Tucker into her home through our Holiday Foster program. Emily, Liam and their sweet senior Zoey, a GAHS alum herself, have embraced their role as host family with gusto! Their adventures in the snow, at the beach and visiting dog friendly venues have been fun to watch.
“We chose to begin fostering at GAHS because we wanted to get more involved with the shelter. We were ready for a new adventure in our household, and Tucker was the perfect new adventure for us! It is so nice to be able to help out the shelter in this way. He has also given our current dog a friend to play and cuddle with.”
Fostering is not only great for the pets, allowing them to be in a home setting as they wait for adoption, it can be a great experience for the whole family.
“This experience has given our family an opportunity to bond together to help welcome Tucker into our home and make it a happy and nurturing place for him to grow. Seeing him reach new milestones and become more confident in himself has been so rewarding for us.
I think one of the best parts is watching my boyfriend with Tucker. Liam never had dogs growing up, and Zoey is our old lady so she’s all trained and super easy. Tucker still has so many puppy qualities, so watching Liam learn and grow and learn how to train Tucker is great too. He’s so good with Tucker, who listens to him so well and respects him a lot.”
