Meet Pluto – A Brave Boy Learning to Shine
Pluto is a large bully breed mix who came to us through Animal Control alongside a female dog. Because of this, very little is known about his history with other dogs, cats, or children. When Pluto first arrived at the shelter, the new environment was overwhelming, and he was understandably very nervous. Thanks to the patience and dedication of his caregivers, he has made incredible progress. Today, Pluto confidently walks through the building, enjoys spending time in our outdoor yards, and continues to show us more of his sweet, gentle personality every day. Watching him grow in confidence has been a joy for everyone who knows him. One thing we've learned for certain? Pluto absolutely loves butt scratches-they're the fastest way to make his tail wag!
Pluto is looking for a patient, understanding family that will continue helping him build confidence at his own pace. He is carefully learning how to interact with other dogs, so any introductions should be slow, thoughtful, and focused on setting him up for success. His ideal home will provide a predictable routine, positive reinforcement, and plenty of opportunities to continue exploring the world with the support of people he trusts. With time, kindness, encouragement, and a healthy supply of butt scratches, Pluto is sure to continue blossoming into a loyal, loving companion.
