Brothers Fencing & GAHS To Honor A Local Veteran
Do you know a veteran who has recently opened their heart to a GAHS dog or is about to? Help us give back to those who have served!
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society (GAHS) is honored to team up with Brothers Fencing of Lewiston to support a deserving local veteran who will receive FREE fencing and installation from their expert team to help welcome their new dog home.
“At Brothers Fencing, giving back to our community is something that’s very close to our hearts. Our owner, a proud military veteran, understands the value of service and the importance of support. That’s why we’re committed to assisting fellow veterans—helping those who are looking for companionship, through adopting a dog.
We recognize that not every veteran has the resources to invest in a fence or outdoor space for their pets, so we’re proud to offer support where we can. It’s our way of honoring service by giving veterans the opportunity to enjoy the comfort, safety, and companionship they deserve—without letting cost stand in the way.”
The GAHS is now accepting nominations for veterans who meet one of the following criteria:
- Recently Adopted: A veteran who has adopted a dog from the GAHS within the past six months.
- Ready to Adopt: A veteran who is planning to adopt a dog from the GAHS within the next three months.
PLEASE NOTE: Nominated veterans should live within one hour of Lewiston and be willing to be have their story featured by the GAHS.
To ensure the new companion has a safe and appropriate space, the selected veteran will receive one of the following two high-quality fencing options, installed completely free of charge:
- Option 1: 100 feet of 6-foot fence with one gate (great for active or tall dogs)
- Option 2: 200 feet of 4-foot fence with one gate (perfect for lots of running room!)
