Dash for Dogs 5K Walk and Run

Enthusiastic animal-loving community members joined us on Sunday, April 26 at the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society on Strawberry Ave in Lewiston for one of our favorite annual traditions –  a day filled with energy, community spirit, and lots of tail wags.

Everyone who came out helped make a meaningful difference for the dogs, and all of the animals, in our care. The scenic 5K began right here at GAHS and winding along the beautiful river path to Sunnyside Park before looping back – a perfect route for participants and pups of all fitness levels.

We’re proud to once again recognize Furniture Superstore as our Leader of the Pack Sponsor! Their ongoing support of GAHS continues to make an impact in so many ways. We are grateful for all of this year’s sponsors – we couldn’t have made this event possible without their support!

Plans are already underway for next year! Sponsorship opportunities will soon be available – a wonderful way to suppawt shelter pets while connecting animal lovers across Maine.

We can’t wait to share all of the fun, success and happy memories of the 2026 Dash For Dogs! Make sure to check back for updates and to follow us on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok as we highlight this amazing event and all of the happy memories created!
