Saving More Lives with the Orphan Kitten Club
At Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, we know that saving lives takes a community – and during kitten season, that community becomes more important than ever. Each spring and summer, our shelter sees a surge of vulnerable kittens arriving at our doors. Many of these tiny arrivals are neonatal, meaning they are too young to eat on their own and require round-the-clock, specialized care. “Bottle babies” depend on formula to survive, and the resources needed to care for them can add up quickly.
Without access to proper nutrition, many neonatal kittens would face uncertain outcomes. That’s why we are incredibly grateful for the support of the Orphan Kitten Club and their Forever Formula Grant!
Through this lifesaving program, the Orphan Kitten Club provides high-quality kitten formula to shelters and rescues like ours, helping ensure that fragile neonatal kittens receive the nutrition they need to grow and thrive. By supplying formula – often in large quantities – this grant removes one of the biggest barriers to care and allows organizations to say “yes” to more kittens in need.
The Forever Formula Grant helps equip shelters with the resources needed to give even the tiniest, most vulnerable, like Sanders, lives a fighting chance. Because of this partnership, we’re able to focus on what matters most: providing compassionate care, supporting our foster network, and helping these kittens grow strong enough to find loving homes.
Orphan Kitten Club’s commitment to saving neonatal kittens extends beyond formula. Their programs also support shelters with veterinary care, infrastructure, and innovative tools like incubators – further strengthening the safety net for at-risk animals nationwide.
