Our Service Area
Greater Androscoggin Humane Society contracts with several Maine municipalities to provide stray and animal care services to residents of those communities (our service area). If your town does not contract with us, and you feel they should, please let your town officials know. We are always open to discussing contract options with local communities to best serve the animals and their families.
Our current contract municipalities are: Auburn, Canton, Greene, Hebron, Leeds, Lewiston, Livermore, Minot, New Gloucester, Turner, Rumford, and Wales.
We take in stray dogs, cats and small animals from our contract communities. If you live in one of these communities, and have found a stray, please check out our Found a Pet page. Please note that a photo ID is required to bring in a stray pet to our facility.

Residents of our contracted towns/service area are also eligible for a variety of services including our spay/neuter assistance program, pet food pantry, pet wellness services, and Alley Cats L/A TNR program.
For adoptions, visits, support, donations, volunteers, foster homes and general help, we welcome folks from any and every community!
