Adopt A Pet’s Shelter Plus program comes to the GAHS!
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society is proud to announce a new partnership with Adopt a Pet’s Shelter Plus program – an initiative created to support animals in need and the dedicated people who care for them.
Shelter Plus, developed by Adopt a Pet in collaboration with IAMS® and PEDIGREE®, helps participating shelters and rescue organizations strengthen every stage of the adoption journey. The program provides resources such as bulk pet-food discounts and reliable deliveries, staff wellness and peer-support services, Fear Free® training, enhanced visibility through Adopt a Pet, and post-adoption resources for families welcoming a new pet home. Together, these supports help shelters focus more of their time and resources on compassionate care and connecting pets with safe, loving homes.
For GAHS, this partnership means additional tools to help vulnerable animals thrive while empowering our staff, volunteers, foster families, and adopters to continue making a life-changing difference. It reflects a belief we share with our community: humans and animals have a natural bond, and every animal deserves kindness, protection, and the opportunity to flourish in a caring home.
“We are grateful to join Adopt a Pet’s Shelter Plus program and receive resources that directly support the animals in our care as well as the people who dedicate themselves to helping them,” said Ken, Executive Director of the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society. “This partnership will help us continue providing compassionate care, strengthen the adoption experience for families, and give more pets the opportunity to find the loving homes they deserve.”
We look forward to the difference this partnership will make for the pets and people of our community!
